Food: The most important part of a theme party is the wine and food to match your theme. Serving traditional Italian food like spaghetti and meatballs, stuffed shells with ricotta cheese, ravioli, a caprese salad (mozzarella, tomatoes and basil), eggplant parmesan, is sure to please. You can find on Yangjiu.com traditional Italian “antipasti” (An Italian word, roughly equivalent to “First course”) that are sure shots for an Italian theme party: Green Olives, Mushrooms, Artichokes, Sun-dried tomatoes, Borettane Onions. For dessert some suggestions are tartufo, tiramisu, cannoli, zeppole, biscotti. Italian coffee after dinner in the form of Espresso, or Cappuccino is a nice touch, but so is the traditional Italian after-dinner liquor of Limoncello, Frangelico, Amaretto di Saronno, or Sambuca
Wine: Of course it depends on what food you are serving, but you should serve a Prosecco before dinner as an aperitif (or pre-dinner appetite stimulant). See Zardetto proseccos for details (Zardetto Spumante Brut Private Cuvee, Zardetto Rinassendo Prosecco Brut DOC or Zardetto Prosecco Dry Zeta). Then classic Italian wines are recommended: Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco…
Music: Having a violin player or a piano player is nice and tasteful, but you can also download Italian music onto your i-Pod. The most famous of all native Italian composers of opera are Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, and Puccini. Opera could be a good thing to listen to during cocktail hour. The Tarantella song and accompanying dance, the most iconic of Italian dances, is the most recognized form of Italian music and a popular theme song in restaurants throughout
Attire: Go for glamour! Designer Italian Clothes, brands like Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Italians are always dressed in a chic and more formal way. You could also go with a more ancient Roman theme and have everyone wear togas, or white sheets with rope belts. If you choose to have the toga theme it is best to have extra togas for the people who don’t come dressed up.
Decorations: Transforming your home into an Italian bistro is easier than you think. Renting round tables is one idea, but you can use any tables you already have and cover them with red and white checked tablecloths that are typical to small Italian restaurants. Make sure to put a small flower and candle on each table. Some additional decorations could be Roman columns and statues. Print posters at Kinkos of Italian landmarks like the leaning
