Product Reviews

4 I had it recently for a dinner with friends. It's very easy to drink and displays nice and complex aromas. I would like to try it in a few years though to see how it can evolve. hooper 2008-11-24 10:43:40
4 Accoding to the Wine Advocate:
The 2005 Perrin et Fils Cotes du Rhone-Villages essentially comes primarily from their estate at the home of Francois Perrin known as Chateau Grand Prebois. This wine, which is equal parts Grenache and Syrah, shows terrific fruit, a dark ruby/purple-tinged color, loads of berry, tar, and pepper, Provencal herbs, and spice. It is a solid mouthful of wine that should drink nicely for 4-5 years.

3 Accoding to an expert:
Spice and incense aromas lead the way for this supple, medium-weight version, with slightly corrupt cherry and currant fruit backed by spice cake and roasted game hints on the finish. Drink now through 2009.

REGION HISTORY

Rhone Valley

The Rhone river valley in southeastern France is a grape growing and wine producing area that produces mostly red wines (approximately 90% of the production). The grape varieties used in the Rhone Valley are mainly Syrah and Grenache

WINERY HISTORY

Perrin & Fils

The Perrin family owns vineyards within the best terroirs of the Southern Rhône Valley. Amongst these are the plots that produce such famous wines as the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Château de Beaucastel, the Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet, or the Château du Grand Prébois, which produces the bulk of the Côtes du Rhône Perrin Réserve. The Perrin family has set these out in a number of principles which they constantly apply to all our wines: They are convinced that, to produce a great wine, the vine must grow in as natural a way as possible. This will enable it to fully express the natural balance of its surroundings. Thus, at Beaucastel, neither chemical fertiliser, pesticide nor insecticide has been used since 1964. Production levels are obviously low, but, through their organic nature, the wines reveal the essence of their terroir.
